Hello! If you have been following the blog and the youtube channel you already know that I sold my still camera a while back before moving out of Argentina and back to Canada. I have now purchased a new video camera so that I can continue producing videos for the channel. I love nature and that is where most of my filming is usually done. In this video I decided to put the new camera to the test and shoot nature scenes and particularly a few sequences of the birds in the area. Birds are usually small, shy and fast moving, and that makes them a difficult subject. It is spring, May 2023, and the birds nests are actively attended too, so it is a perfect time to see how the auto-focus, and auto-exposure behave. Even though I am surprised that despite the fairly long lens (578mm in 35mm equivalent) the stabilization is excellent and shooting handheld is definitely possible, shooting in manual focus on a tripod remains a good choice. But enough said, I’ll let you watch and hopefully enjoy our little feathered friends going about their life.
