Video spring camping trip

Hi everyone,

It is spring here in South America, which means the camping season is starting again. To be honest it never really stopped since winter is mild and it is possible to camp year round. Still, the truck was parked unused for a couple of months since July and August is the time when we travel back to Canada to visit our children and grand-children. We have been back for a few weeks, and I went for a one-day trip to the high desert recently. It was now time to load the gear and go spend a night out in order to check everything before we venture out farther. With food in the fridge, we headed out to Manzano Historico, about 2 hours southwest of Mendoza. We thought we might see some of the fruit trees in bloom on the way, but we were already too late as they are all in leaves already. Instead we found cacti in bloom as you will see in the video. On the drive back home we stopped at a family-run winery, Bodega Familia Giaquinta. We bought a few bottles and they graciously let us use their gazebo to have our lunch. As always it was nice to be out in nature, in silence, and to hike breathing fresh air. It’s the best therapy!
