Today we reached San Pedro De Atacama in northern Chile. We have had a good trip so far. The last two nights we had camped along the ocean but tonight we are in the desert. San Pedro is a small, dusty town, but it has its own charm. There are lots of foreign tourists even though it is the off season for now. The high season being January and February. There are all sorts of restaurants, arts and crafts stores, etc. Tomorrow we will start exploring the area where we are planning to be for a few days before climbing to the Bolivian border to drive the laguna route at close to 5000 m!
